Sarah Palin gets a book deal

Everyone wants a piece of Sarah Palin. And she wasn’t even on the winning ticket! In the past week or so, she was offered $2 million for an exclusive in an adult film. Then it was rumored that she was offered a part on Desperate Housewives. And today the word is book deal. Apparently she is getting a $7 million dollar book deal.

Michael Crichton dead at age 66

Wow, this is some sad news. Author Michael Crichton apparently passed away. He was age 66. And he died of cancer. And that is odd cause I had no idea. I mean, you would think you would have heard that. I mean he IS the Jurassic Park author. You can read more on Yahoo.

The next JK Rowling

Every author out there is hoping to be the next JK Rowling. I suspect that is not hurt by the fact that she is so freaking rich.A lot of people in the industry are also anxious to see who the next JK Rowling will be. I am certain that is because their numbers are down since she has no new book. Some say that it might be Twilight author Stephenie Meyer. And others point to Eragon scribe Christopher Paolini. Me? I prefer Libba Bray over both of them.

Self publishing successes

Not everyone that self-publishes ends up with a lot of extra books. Of course, that sucks for them. They don’t get to make cool furniture with all of the book boxes. All those heavy freaking book boxes. One such example is Christopher Paoli. Eragon was self published. Then he got a deal. He just released his 3rd book and broke some records for his publisher. I got a great coffee table made of book boxes I could sell him.
