		<description>I can't believe I made the PW column... but it's true. I self published The Hoopster and just finished my 4rth book for Disney and first book for Scholastic, as well.

And there's only one lesson to be learned... GO FOR IT!! Nothing in this world will ever replace initiative and perseverance. It might have taken me a heck of a long time to get where I am (and to see how far I have come check out www.AlanSitomer.com ) but I wouldn't trade the years of toiling in anonymity for anything now. The ride has been amazing -- and the truth is, as a self-pubbed author, I completely understand how the whole process works. which I believe has helped me tons as a professional author.
